Control
One screen tells you where the insurance side of the office stands.
What's ready to post, what needs a decision, which denials are getting old, which pre-auths are waiting on a patient, and what the team did yesterday.
Overview
Every EOB, denial, pre-authorization and patient check in one place, with its history. Nothing is written to Open Dental until a person has seen it, and every action is on record by name.
No portal logins, no reading EOBs line by line, no keying payments. Benefits are checked and entered in Open Dental before the patient arrives. The team approves; the reading and typing are already done.
Payments are posted the day they arrive. Denials are worked from a queue instead of aging in a report. Anything that doesn't add up is visible the same day.
Flat and predictable. No percentage of your collections, no per-claim fees, no setup charge, month to month.
How it works
Three steps. The last one is yours.
Klive retrieves
EOBs, remittances and pre-authorizations come in from your carrier portals and your scanner.
Klive prepares
Each claim is read, checked against its own total, and laid out with payment, write-off and patient balance per procedure.
You post
Your team reviews, adjusts anything that needs it, and presses Post. Klive writes it into Open Dental and confirms it landed.
What it does
The insurance side of the ledger, in one place.
Payment posting
Every EOB prepared for a one-click Post — including coordination of benefits, downcodes and recoupments.
Follow-ups
Denied and short-paid lines in a queue grouped by claim, with a status and a note trail.
Benefit verification
Coverage, deductibles, maximums and frequencies pulled before the appointment and written into the patient's Open Dental insurance plan.
Pre-authorizations
Pre-determinations matched to patients and worked to a decision.
Reconciliation
Each remittance's total checked against what was posted, with gaps shown the same day.
The assistant
Ask why a claim looks the way it does; it checks your records and Open Dental and explains.
See it
The screens your team will use.
Every claim laid out. You press Post.
Paid, write-off and patient balance per line, with the EOB beside it and anything uncertain flagged with its reason.

Coverage, deductibles, maximums and frequencies for tomorrow's patients, from the carrier itself, entered into the patient's plan so nobody retypes them.

Reliability
It doesn't guess.
Posting insurance money wrong is worse than posting it late. These are rules the software enforces.
- It matches or it stops.A document whose lines don't add up to its own total is held for a person, never posted.
- Unknown formats are held, not improvised.Anything Klive doesn't recognize goes to your team with what's known about it.
- It never guesses a patient. If a name can't be matched to one chart with certainty, a person picks the chart.
- A person presses Post.Every claim is reviewed on screen before anything is written to Open Dental.
- It checks its own work. After posting, each claim is read back from Open Dental and confirmed.
- Every action is on record.Who did what, when, to which claim.
Cost
What running the revenue cycle costs a practice — and with Klive.
For a single location collecting about $100,000 a month from insurance.
| Outsourced billing | In-house, by hand | Klive | |
|---|---|---|---|
| Monthly | ≈ $2,500–3,500 (2.5–3.5% of collections) | 10–15 staff hours a week ≈ $1,200–1,800 | $250 (first three months $150) |
| Yearly | ≈ $30,000–42,000 | ≈ $15,000–22,000 | $2,700 in year one |
| Who's in your software | A biller you've never met, on remote desktop | Your team | Your team, with the work prepared |
| Contract | Percentage of collections, annual | — | Month to month, per location |
Service pricing is the industry's published range; staff time assumes $25–30/hour fully loaded.
A note from the founder
I built Klive for my own practice. Insurance was the part of running the office that never felt under control: EOBs in three portals, denials nobody remembered, and every front-desk change setting us back months.
I wanted something a dentist could read at a glance, that did not depend on one person knowing where everything was, and that did not cost a percentage of what we collect. That is what my office runs on now, and it is what you would be buying.

Questions
Straight answers.
What does it cost?
$150 a month per location for the first three months, then $250. Month to month. No percentage of collections, no per-claim fees, no setup charge.
Which practice management software does it work with?
Open Dental. Klive posts through Open Dental's own API, so every write is a proper transaction with a record.
Does it post payments on its own?
No. Klive prepares every claim; a person on your team reviews it and presses Post. Then Klive confirms what it wrote.
Is it HIPAA compliant? Where does our data live?
Klive runs on a computer in your office; patient data and carrier logins stay there, encrypted. We sign a Business Associate Agreement with every practice.
How long does setup take?
An afternoon for the software, then a week or two running alongside your current process. Your team enters the carrier logins — we never see them.
Which carriers?
Any carrier whose EOBs reach you through a portal, a clearinghouse site or the mail — Zelis, ECHO, Cigna, DentaQuest, Delta Dental, United Healthcare and more. New carriers are added as practices need them.
